Oil Is Not The Only Hemp Source! Learn 4 Other Ways Of Using Hemp As Food

01/24/2018

I've always been a cannabis enthusiast but hemp didn't have much of an impression on me. You can say it was because of my ignorance about the benefits of hemp. However, when one of my friends, a resident of a conservative state, started using hemp-derived CBD for his fibromyalgia and shared his experience, I got curious about hemp and CBD. I started listening to CBD radios to follow the world of hemp.

In one of the cannabis radio news, the hosts were discussing the different ways we can include hemp in our food. Until I listened to this cannabis live show, I was under an impression that hemp oil and seeds are the only major ways we can include hemp in our diet. But it's not true! There is much more to know about how hemp can be used in foods!

Let's see how!

  • Nutritious Granola

Who doesn't like Granola bars! Packed with nutrition and ideal for boosting your body with energy in the morning, granola bars are not just made of nuts anymore. There are several brands who have recognized the high protein values and a perfect ratio of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids of hemp and are producing hemp granola bars. I also tried the brand the radio mentioned and I must admit, it was a tasteful delight.

  • Dairy-free Milk

Being vegan is a choice for some and a compulsion for the ones who are lactose intolerant. Along with soy milk and rice milk, all the vegans out there have one more option now and that's hemp milk. Blended with the tasteful flavors of vanilla and chocolate, hemp milk tastes smooth and is gluten-free. Well, I am not vegan or intolerant to dairy products so have not tried the milk but I'm sure it must be good.

  • Hemp Seed Butter

I don't think there could be a better way to include hemp in your diet than this. An equally healthy replacement of peanut butter, hemp seed butter can be used on toasts, crackers, or any and every other thing you would use peanut butter for. You can also make your own hemp butter using any nutty butter recipe.

  • Protein Powder

Hemo is actually a fantastic source of protein and hemp protein powder can be exactly what you might need to increase your protein intake. You can easily add hemp protein powder to your breakfast by adding a scoop or two in a smoothie, orange juice, milk, yogurt, or anything you prefer to have in the morning. The best thing about hemp protein powders is that they are fat-free as the proteins are isolated and possess no sweeteners or additives. A perfect source of high-quality protein!

So, yes, these are some different ways of adding hemp to your diet apart from eating seeds or using the hemp oil. Hemp-based food products have also provided the enthusiasts with a business opportunity. If you too are interested in cannabis and hemp and are unaware of how to take a step ahead, try listening different cannabis business podcasts to gain the knowledge needed before entering the industry!
